Celeste Jo Walls,
Senior Loan Officer

But Seriously, Titles Aside

I had a boss once (a very good one) who couldn't stand business titles.  He never put them on business cards.  He said, "If you don't give people your title, then they're more likely to ask you what you do."  He was a good ole boy, and a "go getter."  Looking back now, I can understand-- even empathize-- with his logic.  I can honestly say that people ask me "so what do you do?" all the time, and it's a challenge to put it into one sentence, much less one title.

Legally, my title is "mortgage loan originator" (MLO).  I do like that word: originator.  It's an active word.  To me, it represents how I make some pretty awesome things happen for people who need my services.

At the office here at American Residential Mortgage, my title is "senior loan officer."  I like the last word on this one too: officer.  Many days I do feel like a soldier on the front lines for my clients.

On this website, the first title you saw was "your trusted mortgage consultant."  That last word is really important also: consultant.  It's what all my clients come to know me as.  I'm not just a licensed MLO.  I'm not just an officer for a Florida mortgage broker.  I'm someone who works to earn my clients' trust while providing unparalleled service in the mortgage lending process.

When new clients talk to me on the phone, they sometimes ask me what's the difference between me and a loan officer at a bank.  That's when I tell them my unofficial title, which is that I'm a "personal shopper for your home loan."  I have access to many types of home loans (not just the limited few you'll find at a bank), and it's my job to find the best one for you and your mortgage lending needs.  Once I say that, the light goes on (don't ask me how I can see a light going on through the phone, because I don't know! lol), and they suddenly get it.

The bottom line is: I'm someone who loves what I do and I love helping people find the best home loan solutions for their mortgage loan needs.

And, it's a personal goal of mine, that by the time we have finished securing the best Florida mortgage loan for you, whether it's for a first-time home, second home, forever home, investment property, or other residential loan or small commercial loan . . . we end our time together at a closing table with a spirit of friendship that needs no titles.  I'm honored to be in a business where I get to play a valuable role in your story for a short time, and I don't take that role lightly.

As you browse my portfolio website, I want to invite you to follow my Florida mortgage blog.  It's always written by yours truly, and it (hopefully) offers value and great insight for you into the latest happenings in the Florida mortgage industry (which I can tell you are many!).  I can't promise not to bore you with lots of numbers (that's bound to happen eventually), but I can promise to try and keep it lively (my somewhat cheesy humor comes standard) with a dash of personal flare.

I also invite you-- if we've never spoken before and you have questions about how to get qualified for a home loan-- to get in touch.  Click the button below, send me a shout out, and we'll talk soon.
